We partner with colleges and universities in a variety of ways.

We love it when colleges use our material in information sessions, on websites and as email material for prospective students.

We also facilitate professional development workshops for admissions officers and seasonal readers on what to look for when reviewing application essays, always through a values-based lens.

Host a virtual or in-person private session led by Ethan (College Essay Guy), or co-led by Ethan with one of our trusted partners. We can promise practical resources, big questions, and plenty of time for Q&A.

How to Reduce Bias in Recommendation Letters

This workshop is led by Marie Bigham and Dr. Ashley L. Bennett, leaders of ACCEPT: Admissions Community Cultivating Equity & Peace Today.

Marie and Ashley have more than 40 combined years of experience in the college access space, both having served as college admissions officers and college counselors in high schools.

In this 1.5-hour workshop, we cover:

  • How to identify your biases (we all have them) in a way that serves your students.

  • How to read your own writing while applying a lens rooted in equity.

  • How to identify stereotypical language that is used to describe students from historically excluded groups.

  • How to use language that affirms your students’ identities in a way that is relevant and useful to college admissions officers.

  • How to advocate for your student by telling their story.

In this live, 90-minute interactive session co-led by Ethan Sawyer (College Essay Guy) and Marie Bigham (ACCEPT), we’ll cover:
